Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 2025
Your privacy matters. SQL Formatter is designed to be a zero-data-collection tool — your SQL queries are processed entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to any server.
Information We Collect
We collect no personal information. There is no account system, no sign-up form, and no way for us to identify who you are.
The only data stored on your device is a single key in localStorage:
theme— stores your display preference ("light"or"dark"). This never leaves your browser and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
SQL Queries & Your Data
All SQL formatting, minifying, and diff operations run 100% locally using JavaScript loaded from this website. Your SQL queries:
- Are never sent to any server
- Are never stored in a database
- Are never logged or recorded
- Are never shared with any third party
The only exception is the Share URL feature: when you click the Share button, your query is Base64-encoded and placed into a URL. You choose whether to share that URL — we do not store or log it on our end.
Cookies
We do not use HTTP cookies. The theme preference described above useslocalStorage, not a cookie. No tracking cookies, session cookies, or advertising cookies are set by this website.
Analytics & Tracking
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or tracking script. There is no behavioural tracking, no heatmapping, no session recording, and no ad retargeting on this site.
Third-Party Services
All fonts (Geist) are self-hosted and served directly from this domain — no requests are made to Google Fonts or any CDN. No third-party scripts, iframes, or embedded content are loaded by this site.
Children's Privacy
This service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
